Once the residence of Imasultan Muhammed Sha Khan III, built in 1892. Gandhi and his wife Kasturba were interned here by the British for almost 2 years in 1942. Kasturba and Gandhi’s trusted secretary died here. Their ashes and some of Gandhi’s ashes reside here.
